State owned telecom operator Nepal Telecom (NT) has come up with discount schemes on the occasion of biggest festivals of Hindus - Dashain, Tihar and Chhath. The festive schemes was delayed this year because of protest of engineers objecting appointment of a non-engineer Buddhi Prasad Acharya as NT Managing Director.

Nepal Telecom Authority (NTA) telecom regulatory body of Nepal directed Ncell, private telecom operator to shut its free twitter service Wednesday. Ncell part of Swedish telecom company Teliasonera has offering free twitter access to its subscribers as a promotional activity with the permission of regulator. Later Ncell has extended its campaign without approval and notification to regulator. According to telecom regulation telecom operators must get approval from NTA to lunch or extend their promotional activities.

Good news for Ncell subscribers who don't prefer data packages. The new campaign can allow users to surf internet with less than 1 Rs per MB. Service named "SuperNet" seems to be the cheapest internet in which the data charge decreases with increase in the usage per month.

The internet bandwidth charge paid by nepali internet service providers declined by nearly 8% from last fiscal year. Though the customers count increased by over 30% in 2013/14, the internet bandwidth fee fell to NPR 2.39 billion from 2.59 last year.
