As much as we’re encouraged to keep busy all the time, sometimes we just need a break from all the stress. Like most people, we like to spend our free time on the Internet, and one of our favourite pastimes is online games. To help you stay entertained throughout your break we’ve found some extremely entertaining games that you can play in short bursts!
Mellow Mind Games

Anyone who’s ever travelled a fair distance by train is sure to know the appeal of mind games like puzzle books which are often an essential item on long hauls. Now there are thousands of modern alternatives to play online whilst travelling or on a break.
Considered one of the most relaxing games on the web, Entanglement is one such game that’s become very popular over the last few years. The idea of Entanglement is to expand tiles from squares to hexagons so you can create more levels and space. Some thought is needed of course, but with the accompanying soothing music and sound effects you’re sure to feel calm in no time.
For an even mellower mind game experience, there’s also a game called Flow, which explores the psychological phenomenon of Flow Theory. Creator Jenova Chen developed the game in an attempt to discover what causes people to get ‘in the zone’ and eventually struck the perfect balance between boringly easy and anxiety-inducing difficult. If you’re interested in finding your perfect work-fun equilibrium, then you should definitely try Flow.

Whilst progress may be lost each time you leave regular gaming websites, online bingo sites are great for quick gaming breaks as they record your account activity and any rewards you receive. What’s more, games last on average between four and five minutes, so you can be back at your desk in no time!
If you’re even shorter on time, head to bgo.com/bingo which hosts Need For Speed games taking under two minutes to complete. Need for Speed is just one of twenty bingo variants you can play on bgo so you never get bored. Games cost as little as 2p but you can get jackpots up to £250 and register to the Candy Club loyalty scheme to get daily access to free VIP rooms and bonuses on your birthday.
Alternatively, if you prefer completely free games, doubledowncasino.com has plenty to offer besides bingo, including blackjack, video poker and roulette, though there are no prizes to be won. And for those of you who prefer playing while you’re on the move, get the Iceland Bingo app which will work on your iPhone or Android device so that you can play anytime anywhere. Needless to say, online bingo sites may be the best boredom breakers you can find!
Short Strategy Games

Finally, we couldn’t cover the best break time online games without sharing some short strategy games. There are hundreds, if not thousands of these games online, so finding the one for you can be tricky. That said, there are games like Mini Metro that appeal to almost everybody due to their simplistic concept. In Mini Metro, players must connect metro stations and create a functioning metro line before passengers become angry. It’s easy, it’s fun and almost everyone can relate to the passenger’s strife.
For those of you looking for something a little more complex, though, we recommend Stealth Assassin. Whilst you will need to engage your inner gamer, Stealth Assassin can be played in short bursts as well as long stretches. The aim of the game is to stealthily approach targets without being seen by guards that patrol the maze. Stealth Assassin is great as it requires strategy and thought but it never becomes overwhelmingly challenging, so you’ll never get bored or frustrated.
So, now that you’ve spent the first part of your break reading up on the best games to play during your spare time why not head over to bgo, Flow or Mini Metro!
