Nepal Telecom offers free SIM cards to farmers - DoorsancharNepal telecom is offering fifty-five hundred Sim cards and rim cards to the farmers of the different districts of Nepal. Together it will offer hundred rupees bonus balance and 15 MB of data for free of cost. Under the Agriculture Management Information System (AMIS) of Agriculture ministry, Nepal telecom will be distributing fifteen hundred sim cards at the initial phase and remain four thousand sim cards in the second phase. The contract has been signed by Rajendra Nakarmi, chief business officer of Nepal Telecom and the director of AMIS Shivanandan Shah. According to the contract farmers of twenty-five, districts will be provided with the sim cards. Thus, distributed sim cards will be offered 15 MB data. Similarly, farmers will be offered with notice board service and toll-free service. With SMS, service farmers can get information on various issues they face on daily lives during agricultural activities. Telecom and the project will also provide “Hamro Krishi” mobile application, Agriculture prior information system, toll-free number, audio notice, Agriculture info SMS services. Farmers with an android smartphone can use the given application to get the information about weather, agriculture, and technology, phone numbers related to agriculture offices, insurance information as well various other related information which will help farmers.
