Amnesty International has released anti-spyware program that can detect spying software used by anyone to surveillance your computer.
Amnesty International says the tool released, called Detekt which is a free tool that scans your Windows computer for traces of known surveillance spyware used to target and monitor human rights defenders and journalists around the world.
The organization said that many governments used sophisticated spying tools that could capture images from webcams and listen in via microphones. It said that it wants to see more regulation of the spying software used by governments.
In the official website of Detekt they have explained that there is little to no regulation currently in place to safeguard against these technologies being sold or used by repressive governments or others who are likely to use them for serious human rights violations and abuses. This is the primary reason why they have developed this software.
