Undoubtedly Microsoft’s internet explorer used to be the most widely used web browsers back then in 2002 and 2003 where it had 95% of usage share. it was first released as part of the add-on package plus! For Windows 95 that year. later versions were available as free downloads, or in service packs, and included in the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) service releases of windows 95 and later versions of windows. But the days went quite bad when Firefox in 2004 and google chrome in 2008 were launched which got popular among the users and thus the usage share of internet explorer was declined. Similarly, the growing popularity of operating systems platforms such as Linux, OS X, android and iOS also were the major cause of the downfall of internet explorer.
Reportedly Microsoft has announced that it will stop delivering support for Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10 next Tuesday. The company announced its new browser called Microsoft Edge with Windows 10. This was intended to replace Internet Explorer. Microsoft stays to deliver Internet Explorer 11 with Windows 10, though it expects to phase out Internet Explorer.
According to IBNLIVE the company will request users of Windows 7 computers and Windows Server 2008 R to upgrade on Tuesday, and IE 8, 9, and 10 users should soon make the switch to IE11, Microsoft outlines. Users can choose not to move to Internet Explorer 11 by disabling the required update. However, when Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10 become obsolete, the browser will stop receiving all updates, even those concerning security, IBN reports.
