Pledges to provide affordable and innovative service to its customers
Ncell has unveiled its new brand logo officially in a programme on Tuesday. Managing Director of Ncell, Simon Perkins together with Axiata Regional Chief Executive Officer for South Asia, Dr Hans Wijayasuriya unveiled the new brand logo of Ncell in a programme attended by customers, representatives from private sectors, foreign missions and government officials. Axiata is the sole investor in Reynold holdings, which owns 80% of Ncell shares.
Perkins said that with the rebranding, company has begun a new thrilling journey and it would provide affordable, innovative services to its customers. Addressing the programme, he said that Ncell, a Axiata company will contribute to nation building and connect people living in rural parts developing its network further.
In May 2016, Ncell announced a capital investment of Rs 12 billion. Apart from this, it is investing Rs 20 billion in the capital and operational expenditure to ensure that its customers get best services.
Dr Wijayasuriya said that with Ncell rebranding, it has been a great combination of Axiata’s international efficiency and Ncell’s best quality service. ‘Axiata is leading in digitalization of telecommunication sector and has made an entry in Nepal with clean Asia track record’ he said adding it will be committed to Ncell development plans and investment.
Axiata, one of the largest telecommunication companies in Asia has been providing sustainable services in South Asia. It has a presence of more than 20 years in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and has made investments in Pakistan and India as well. Being committed to corporate governance and legal compliance it is the largest taxpayer in the countries where it operates.
Ncell which provides services to 14 million people, is the largest taxpayer in the country. It has provided employment to forty thousand people directly or indirectly. It has invested Rs 74 billion in network development and owns assets worth of Rs 85 billion.
