With the aim to put different sorts of service on single system, Nepal Telecom has introduced a new social networking platform known as MEET. The project meet comes under the scheme of Unified Communication System (UCS). The Meet was officially launched today. Minister for information and technology Mr Sherdhan Rai inaugurated the Website by connecting with one of the staffs from telecom office at Bhojpur. According to the telecom the total cost of the project exceeded Rs 10 cr.
The main aim behind launching this platform is create a better understanding among stakeholders and the company by informing about various services they offer.
How to register?
Users must fill their necessary information by logging on into www.meet.net.np . Users must have Nepal telecom’s GSM or CDMA mobile number in order to create a profile. A code will be sent in that given number which user should enter while creating their profile. Only then it gets registered.
What is inside?
Similar to Facebook, Meet users can text, share photos, audios and videos. However users cannot get unlimited photo storage like in facebook. Only 1 GB space is available to upload photos. Each photo must be less than 5 mb.
10 free sms
Telecom is offering ten free sms for the users. Similarly the service of bulk sms which allow users to send single sms to multiple people is also available. The message character has been increased to three hundred twenty.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, minister Rai assured to improve the quality and capability of Nepal telecom in order to meet the international standards.
