Diversified telecommunication services have made various options available to its customers. Telecom companies are not only there to provide text, SMS services but much more. Telecos are introducing various schemes like data packs, voice packs, CUG, roaming, missed call notification and that too with many options to choose from. Taking into consideration of the growing demands of customers, various offers are being launched. Among the various services offered, friends and family service is one of them.

Friends and Family service allow customers to make calls at cheaper rates to limited numbers that could be your loved ones, friends and family members. Nepal Telecom and Ncell have made this service available.

Nepal telecom has made Family and Friends service available for GSM pre-paid and post-paid users.

For GSM Postpaid

On subscription to Friends and Family Call Service (FNF) feature, Post-Paid Mobile users can make calls to Five(5) other Nepal Telecom’s telephone numbers (Nepal Telecom’s PSTN or Post-Paid or Pre-Paid Mobile) at 55 paisa per minute.

Customers can submit up to five Nepal Telecom’s telephone numbers at the time of registration for Friends and Family Call service. This FNF facility will be applicable only with Outgoing calls of Nepal Telecom Post-Paid Mobile Service. Maximum numbers allowed for friends and family package is 5.

To activate Family and Friends service:

Send SMS to 1400 in the following format:

FNF Nnumber1 <SPACE> Mobile1 <SPACE> Mobile2 <SPACE> Mobile3 <SPACE> Mobile 4

The subscription charge is free.

For GSM Pre-paid

To Subscribe : type < FNFSUB*No1> send it to 1415

To add new FNF member: type < FNFADD*No2> send it to 1415 (repeat same for the next)

The subscription charge is free.

The discounted tariff is 70 paisa per minute.

Maximum allowed FNF members = 5

To Modify FNF Member: type < FNFMOD*OLD No*New No> send it to 1415

To Delete FNF Member: type < FNFDEL*No> send it to 1415

To Inquiry FNF Member: type < FNFINQ > send it to 1415

Family and Friends package in Ncell network

Ncell has named family and friends package as My 5 service. With My5 service, customers can add 5 Ncell numbers in My5 group and talk to those numbers at affordable rates. After adding first 5 numbers in My 5 group, each addition, modification or deletion of the numbers will be charged Rs. 5.

For Ncell Pre-paid

Prepaid users can make calls at just 99 paisa per minute with My 5 service.

How to activate?

Just dial 5599 and follow instructions to activate and add numbers in your My 5 group.

To activate: Dial 5599 or *5599# and then press 1

To add numbers in your group: Dial 5599 or *5599# and then press 2

To modify numbers in your group: Dial 5599 or *5599# and then press 3

To delete numbers in your group: Dial 5599 or *5599# and then press 4

To know the list of numbers in your group: Dial 5599 or *5599# and then press 5

How much it cost?

Rs. 20/month will be charged as service fee every month. The service will be auto-renewed every month. If you want to deactivate the service, dial 5599 or *5599# and then press 6.

If you want to try the service for one month only, dial 5588 and follow the instructions.

For Ncell post-Paid

Monthly Service Fee

Customers will be charged a monthly service fee of Rs 20/ month (exclusive of taxes) .

Activation

To activate the service, type A and send it to 9010 and press 1 to confirm.

For eg : A to 9010

Addition of numbers

To add any Ncell number as your favourite number, type ADD followed by space the mobile number you want to add and send it to 9010. Press 1 to confirm.

For eg : ADD<space>9802123451 to 9010

Deletion of numbers

To delete any number from your MY5 circle type DEL followed by space the mobile number you want to delete and send it to 9010. Press 1 to confirm.

For eg : DEL<space>9802123451 to 9010

Modification of numbers

To modify the numbers in your MY5 circle, that is to replace an old number with a new one, type M followed by space the old number you want to replace followed by a space and the new number you want to add and send it to 9010. Press 1 to confirm.

For eg: M<space>9802123451<space>9802100247

For each modification, you will be charged Rs 10.

You can also activate the service by simply dialing 9010 OR *9010# and then follow the instructions. If you want to know the numbers in your circle, type F and send it to 9010.
